My Adoption Story (Part 2)

(that's me ...2nd day @ home. On mom & dad's bed, I may add. It's never too early to establish dominance with these 2 legged creatures Tee...hee...hee...)

So where were we? Oh yes, my adoption story. Here’s part 2:

After the house visit with the nice lady from JAAN, Carol……the next day mommy got a call, asking when she could pick me up. Yes yes yes, she got me….she got me. Mommy wanted to pick me up that very same day, but Wulan (another nice poochloverlady from JAAN) suggested the day after would be better. So on the 5 th of January 2010 it was. The day I was to meet my mommy and daddy.

On that special day, mommy took a cab home from work, and went straight to kemang to meet me. Mommy arrived around 5:30…but I was no where to be seen (you see, I was still 'on the way' from my foster parent's place). So Mommy waited, while daddy was 'also' still on his way, held up by Jakarta's traffic.

Around 6:30, Wulan came carrying me in her hands…called out to my Mommy….and when mommy first saw me, she had tears in her eyes. I of course gave the appropriate reaction….I wagged my tail in glee, showed her how agile my tripawd worked, licked her, jumped her….the works.
(Afterwards Mommy admitted that she indeed was holding back tears when she first saw me. It broke her heart to see me 1 leg less but at the same time in awe that I seemed so normal…thus the waterworks !)

A few minutes later mommy finalized the legal works for adopting me. She signed the adoption papers stating that she and daddy would love and take care of me for all my doggy days on this earth (Signed Sealed Delivered…I’m Yours – should be playing in the background).

Daddy came around 19:00 and again I gave him the appropriate pooch greetings. He was also a bit shocked to see me jumping around on all three…ruffing and tumbling it with the other JAAN doggies there. After chatting with the JAAN crew, daddy carried me to their car, and thus…my journey as TRIXIE ISABELLE PAREIRA began.

I kinda slept the whole way to their home. Sorry mommy....sorry daddy....but I was tired, you know. Hey, adoption is a lot to process for a puppy like me.
