My Adoption Story (part 1)

My mommy wants to write about my adoption, a subject she holds very dear to her heart. Yes I’m an adopted puppy. I was adopted from JAAN (http://jakartaanimalaid.com/).

You see, my mommy loves to surf the internet and one day …around early December 2009, she stumbled upon that particular website. In it was a section about adoption where she found herself face to face with my mugshot (see my cute pic here). It was love at first sight for her (she says).

She read my story and immediately called my future dad, Mr Pareira. Dad unfortunately, was not too keen on the idea of adopting a ‘special needs’ mutt like myself. He said that t’would be too much of a challenge. But (fortunately for me) mommy persevered. She saved my mugshot and that night, again asked daddy if he would please reconsider. Daddy took a look at my picture and then said that: I am indeed cute (yaaay!!) and that maybe there was a chance they could try and adopt me….but first they had to consider how far my ‘special needs’ extended.

Mommy was ecstatic to say the least. The next day she emailed JAAN asking how severe my handicap. She waited for a week, without getting a reply from JAAN. She tried calling, but the number was unreachable. Dismayed, mommy thought of giving up. Then completely by chance, she suddenly decided to clean out her SPAM email folder. Lo and behold, there it was….an email from JAAN. The reply mommy had desperately been waiting for. In it was a questionnaire mommy had to fill out, and some additional info about me…stating that I was healthy, and able to walk (even run) on my three paws. Mommy immediately filled out the questionnaire, but alas….our meeting to be was again withheld, due to the fact that mommy and daddy had to go on their long planned Phuket trip that very week.

After they got back.... on the 3rd of January 2010, a nice lady named Carol from JAAN finally came for a house visit, interviewed Mommy, Daddy and also Kakak Lina. She took pictures of the house and told mommy that she thinks mommy will soon be contacted with good news regarding me. Mommy and daddy was ecstatic, to say the least.
